School Related Gender Based Violence (SRGBV)

Africa Youth Trust runs a Gender program in these two target areas that works towards improving the safety and security of women and girls in the community and reducing the prevalence of Gender Based Violence (GBV) in the area.

We specifically work with school going children and schools in the community to address School Related Gender Based Violence (SRGBV). We have done this through formation of school clubs popularly known as the “S/heCan Clubs” and developed a curriculum to guide the club discussion. The clubs have grown very popular with the students with more than 300 pupils signing up and attending the club sessions, held every fortnight.
